The avenue leading from the public road to the entrance of the Palace was not opened until 1883, radically changing the road layout of the complex, which was oriented from that moment on towards the city centre by Via del Ponte Nuovo, today's Viale XX Settembre, and no longer towards the village of Piazzutta, via the steps that would progressively fall into disuse.
Left without fencing for a long time, it was not until 1921 that the entrance was equipped with a gate, which was destroyed in 1943 by the heavy vehicles of the German troops, who replaced it with a majestic stone portal taken from the ruins of the Attems Petzenstein villa in Piedimonte, later establishing their headquarters in the palace.
Designed to majestically accompany the visitor towards the main residence, the avenue ends in front of a circular flowerbed. Count Alfredo decided to place a statue here of Giovanni Battista Coronini, made in 1774 by sculptor Marco Chiereghin and originally located in Coronini Castle in Quisca (now Kojsko).
