The rich collection of coins counts over 2000 items. The extremely diverse composition and the broad chronological span, from antiquity to the modern age, document the variety of interests held by Count Guglielmo Coronini Cronberg, to whose passion as a historian we owe much of the numismatic corpus.

Alongside a large collection from the Imperial Roman period, mostly from the mint of Aquileia, the collection includes many examples issued by the Counts of Gorizia, imperial coins for the County of Gorizia, as well as a good number of pieces from various authorities within the Empire (Holy Roman and later Austro-Hungarian).
