The set of 35 miniatures constitutes an important collection within the art-historical heritage of the Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Foundation, even though its formation was guided more by sentimental and genealogical motivations than by any real collecting interest.
Despite the presence of a few landscapes and images of religious and mythological themes, the small paintings mostly depict characters related in various ways to the Coronini family, who boasted family ties with illustrious noble families from all over Europe.
