Title
Triple Hecate
Description

Since the 18th century, the Triple Hecate has been documented to have been in the garden of Kromberk Castle, the original residence of the Coronini family. Back in 1949, writing to his sister Nicoletta, Count Guglielmo had already expressed his intention to move it to Gorizia Palace.

With the final acquisition of the residence by the Yugoslav government, the transfer was blocked, until 1958, when the count succeeded in concluding an agreement with the Goriški Muzej, the City Museum of Nova Gorica, which had established its headquarters in the castle. In exchange for the Hecate, which was placed at the edge of the lawn, two stone coats of arms and a billiard table, he gave up four 19th-century portraits and one of the fragments of the Assumption altarpiece by Francesco Caucig.
